Embraceable You - beautiful card by Deb
I just love how Deb captured the feeling I tried to express in Dinah Washington's Embraceable You.
With our mutual love of jazz and gardening, we were inspired to collaborate on a project based on music alone ... and perhaps a little gardening! Check out Deb's Post here.
Thank you for visiting ... I hope everyone is okay after all of the stormy weather that we've been having! Sending you a hug!
hmmm .... 'stormy weather' ... I am so inspired listening to Etta James sing this ...

friendly butterfly
This card was made with several layers of stencilling, Hero Arts Friend Definition and one butterfly from the Hero Arts Antique Engravings set. The butterfly was embossed in gold.
We're getting lots of rain and thunder storms and also a tornado watch in our area tonight.
Warm wishes to you. I hope you are all safe and sound.

little princess
I'm still loving this little Hero Arts fox, a gift from my sweet daughter. Stamps used to make this card were from HERO ARTS Fox E5465 and Messages CL181.
It stormed all night and rained all day today ... watering my thirsty flowers and giving me a day of rest and crafting ... how wonderful !
Saying hello and sending warm wishes your way!

Inspired by Dinah Washington's Embraceable You.
Two cards inspired by Dinah Washington's Embraceable You. One of my father's very favourite jazz singers. My brothers and I grew up listening to my father's jazz and classical music. We never really thought much of it until we left home and realized that it became very much a part of us. The image used on je t'aime is from Cemerony. The second image is from Graphic Fairy.
I'm so happy that the weekend is here ... I hope it's sunny and warm ... however if it rains all weekend .... that means I'll have to stay in and make cards ... ; ) !
Enjoy your weekend!

the most valuable things
I am so happy to receive your lovely comments about my garden. I have put much work into it since we moved here several years ago. It was slow in coming along. This was the first year that I wasn't able to do anything due to my accidents during the winter months. To my surprise, everything grew taller and fuller and bloomed better ... what a joy! It would be so nice to have you all over for tea!
The most valuable things
In life are priceless
They are Courage,
Compassion,
And Wisdom
Respect for ourselves
And others
And a host of characteristics
That we call
The beauty of the human spirit
I don't know who wrote this and I can't remember where I found it, but this little verse has been pinned to my desk for quite some time ... just wanted to share it with you.
The weekend is coming close ... a wonderful thought :)
Thank you for visiting! Enjoy your day!

Camomile Tea
Camomile Tea by Katherine Mansfield
Outside the sky is light with stars;
There's a hollow roaring from the sea.
And, alas! for the little almond flowers,
The wind is shaking the almond tree.
How little I thought, a year ago,
In the horrible cottage upon the Lee
That he and I should be sitting so
And sipping a cup of camomile tea.
Light as feathers the witches fly,
The horn of the moon is plain to see;
By a firefly under a jonquil flower
A goblin toasts a bumble-bee.
We might be fifty, we might be five,
So snug, so compact, so wise are we!
Under the kitchen-table leg
My knee is pressing against his knee.
Our shutters are shut, the fire is low,
The tap is dripping peacefully;
The saucepan shadows on the wall
Are black and round and plain to see.
There's a hollow roaring from the sea.
And, alas! for the little almond flowers,
The wind is shaking the almond tree.
How little I thought, a year ago,
In the horrible cottage upon the Lee
That he and I should be sitting so
And sipping a cup of camomile tea.
Light as feathers the witches fly,
The horn of the moon is plain to see;
By a firefly under a jonquil flower
A goblin toasts a bumble-bee.

I hope you enjoy this photograph of a little piece of my herb garden. The daisy like flowers are actually camomile. I have cut and dried most of it for tea ... it's so sweet and lovely and gives you such a cozy sleep.
