little bird with teal ribbon
Hello! Welcome back! I made this CAS card with a little bird from the HERO ARTS Bird Trio and HERO ARTS Everyday Sayings. I must say that it took me quite a while to figure out that CAS meant clean and simple ... when I studied painting, we used to call it KISS! ;)
Enjoy your day! Thank you for your visit!

beautiful foxglove
Several foxglove plants grow throughout my garden ... but this one is unique ... only one flower like this comes up every year. If anyone else has one like this, I would love to see a photograph of it. Thanks for looking. Have a wonderful day!

:) You may have noticed ... this hydrangea stamp (Hero Arts) is new to me ... a gift from my darling daughter. I fell in love with this stamp when I first saw how Jacqueline http://myscrapbasket.blogspot.com/ used it on her beautiful cards. ... and I do love Jacqueline's cards!

To Night
To Night |
by Percy Bysshe Shelley |
Swiftly walk over the western wave, Spirit of Night! Out of the misty eastern cave Where, all the long and lone daylight, Thou wovest dreams of joy and fear, Which make thee terrible and dear, - Swift be thy flight! Wrap thy form in a mantle grey, Star-inwrought! Blind with thine hair the eyes of Day, Kiss her until she be wearied out, Then wander o'er city, and sea, and land, Touching all with thine opiate wand - Come, long-sought! When I arose and saw the dawn, I sighed for thee; When light rode high, and the dew was gone, And noon lay heavy on flower and tree, And the weary Day turned to his rest, Lingering like an unloved guest, I sighed for thee. Thy brother Death came, and cried `Wouldst thou me?' Thy sweet child Sleep, the filmy-eyed, Murmured like a noontide bee `Shall I nestle near thy side? Wouldst thou me?' -And I replied `No, not thee!' Death will come when thou art dead, Soon, too soon - Sleep will come when thou art fled; Of neither would I ask the boon I ask of thee, beloved Night - Swift be thine approaching flight, Come soon, soon! My father gave me a book of poetry by Percy Shelley when I was very young. It was because I have always loved the star lit night that I thought this poem was so romantic. I hope you enjoy it too. Thank you for visiting. |
