you're special

Lots of HA stamps here .. made for a very special friend that I've known since we were children.  Not much contrast with the background in this photo but it was late when I took the picture. 

We don't have any snow right now .. it kind of looks like late Fall weather.

You're Sew Special

 

 

'You're Sew Special' is the sentiment stamped inside of this little card.  I embossed my cream coloured cardstock and used one of several beautiful French wine labels, a gift I received from my special friend Jacqueline. The stamped image of the pretty blue dress form was cut out, painted with bees wax, polished and attached to the card.  Viola .. :)

AVE MARIA

Ave Maria , an altered book inspired by Franz Shubert's beautiful opera https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bosouX_d8Y.                      

 

Ave Maria , a book of prayers , was altered from an old hymn book I found stacked on a shelf in an antique furniture store.  I've added only one small drawing in this book. I've used prayer cards, altered images, found objects, lace, bees wax and made three small beaded roseries which sit in the embedded drawers at the bottom of the book.

little sweetheart

 

 

 

 

 

This little sweetheart flew into the glass window and fell to the deck. He toppled over each time he stood up .. for some reason his little beak remained opened. I picked him up, put a couple drops of water in his mouth and started to gently stroke his back. He looked as though he was thoroughly enjoying it and appeared to be starting to fall asleep ... until my husband came out with the camera .  After a few photographs were taken, he stood up and flew onto the branch of a nearby tree.  I'm so happy that he's okay.

Thanks so much for visiting. I have not been posting lately due to lack of time however I have been working on an altered book which I have almost finished and will post soon. I have been visiting several of your blogs and the Hero Arts group and have been enjoying all of your beautiful work.

We've had lots of rain which has been wonderful for my garden . Unfortunately surrounding areas closer to Toronto have experienced much flooding.

..just sharing a few photos I took earlier this year after a snowstorm
this little chickadee had several different seeds to choose from however he seemed to prefer the bread crumbs.  He's very friendly and not the least bit worried about me being so close.

We've had several days of rain which is just fine with me and perfect for my garden.
